Our History

1898

Eureka Machine Shop is founded by blacksmiths the Zahner brothers.

1951

The company begins designing and selling hydraulic shop cranes and hand trucks that were made of tubing and bar stock. From “Tube” and “Bar” came Tubar ®. The "Tubar" name is registered

1952

Kenneth L. Cook starts Uhrden, Inc. in a two-car garage in Dennison, OH with a dream of becoming the best material handling equipment manufacturer in the industry.

1955

Kenneth L. Cook designs the first TD style dumper. From this first dumper, Uhrden/Tubar expanded into several types of material handling equipment for the food, chemical, pharmaceutical and industries as well as the U.S. postal and military service.

1964

Uhrden/Tubar moves to a 100,000 sq./ft. location in Sugarcreek, Ohio.

1971

Uhrden celebrates its 20 year anniversary.

1972

Tubar receives two coveted Ratings for Compactors and Dumpers: National Solid Wastes Management Association (Trash Compactors) and USDA: for use in Meat, Poultry & Food Plants (Dumpers)

1978

2,000th Tubar Hydraulic Shop Crane Sold

1979

1,500th Tubar Trash Compactor Sold

1982

1st Twin Cylinder High Dump Dumper developed and sold to the Shell Oil Company

1986

Uhrden manufactured a Tubar TCHD (Twin Cylinder High Dump)

2000

Developed and manufactured the 1st VRC (Vertical Reciprocating Conveyor)

2009

The Belden Brick Company buys the Eureka Machine Shop.

2012

The Belden Brick Company buys Uhrden, Inc.

2012

Tubar merges with The Eureka Machine Company and the name Uhrden is dropped to create The Tubar Eureka Industrial Group.

2014

The Tubar Eureka Industrial group receives its certification for compliance with ISO 9001:2008.

2016

Tubar Eureka develops their “American Made” and “Built Brickyard Tough” product line
